All season long, Nevin Lawson has played wherever Piper football coach Matthew Lewis has asked him.
His athleticism and speed have made Lawson a natural fit on special teams, offense and defense; now, that talent has earned him a college scholarship.
According to Lewis, Lawson has verbally committed to Utah State. He also considered offers from Western Michigan, Buffalo and Duke.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Lawson projects as a defensive back at the next level.
"He's a fierce competitor and he'll be able to bring a lot of speed with him," Lewis said. "He also has a knack for the football. This year, he's run the ball for us, he returns on special teams, plays defensive back and has scored from everywhere you can think of."
Story as reported in Sun-Sentinel.
